Christianity

God

The God of the Bible does exist. He is all powerful, all knowing, and the creator of all things in heaven and on earth (Heb. 3:4).

In the scriptures, God is seen as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Spirit (Mt. 3:13-17).

Jesus Christ is God's son (John 3:16). He did indeed walk among men during the days of the first century. He is the Creator of the world (Col. 1:15-16), He is the Savior of the world (Rom. 5:8-9), was buried and rose again on the third day (1 Cor. 15:1-5), and has ascended back to heaven to sit at God’s right hand (Acts 1:9-11) to be King of kings and Lord of lords (Rev. 19:16).

Therefore, “we love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

The Bible

The Bible is God's holy, inspired, infallible, and inherent word (2 Tim. 3:16, 17). It alone holds the truth of salvation and in every religious matter (Rom. 1:16). The Bible teaches us how to be better husbands and wives (Eph. 5:25), better children (Eph. 6:1-2), better parents (Eph. 6:3-4), better friends (John 15:13), and how to better treat others (Mt. 22:39).

The Bible can be understood by any intelligent human being who will take the time to study its contents (John 8:32). The elders, deacons, and preachers have no special means of knowing God's word other than the Bible.

Salvation

Every accountable human is guilty of sin (Rom. 3:23); thus this means that all accountable humans are deserving of spiritual death (Rom. 6:23).

No one can get to heaven on their own merit alone (Eph. 2:8). No one is saved by the grace of God alone (James 2:24, 26). For the sinner to be saved two things must be. One, God offers forgiveness, which He has done through the blood of His Son (Col. 1:13, 14). Two, that man must respond with faith and obedience (Heb. 5:8, 9).

When a sinner responds to God's grace with faith (Rom. 10:17), repentance (Acts 17:30), confession (Mt. 10:32-33), and baptism (Mark 16:16), they are added to the church by Jesus who is the head of the church (Acts 2:47; Col. 1:18).

The Church

There is only one church (Eph. 4:4; 1:22, 23), and that church is the same church that existed in the first century. This means that the church of Christ is more than undenominational, it is pre-denominational. It existed before denominations.

Worship

The church adheres to the command to worship God both in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), which includes:

Singing acapella praises to God as a collective group (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16).

Praying to God and giving thanks (2 Thes. 5:17; 1 Tim. 2:1).

Learning more about God from His word (Acts 2:42; 17:11).

Remembering the Son of God in communion (1 Cor. 11:23-26).

Giving a portion back to God and His church in our contribution (1 Cor. 16:1-2).

The Second Coming and Eternity

Jesus will come again one day to deliver His church/kingdom back to the Father in heaven (1 Cor. 15:24). There is a heaven as well as a hell, and both are equally real and eternal (Mt. 25:46).

In short, we strive to believe the Bible!
